The Voices of Heritage Presents Journey: A Musical Celebration
The African Heritage Cultural Arts Center’s Voices of Heritage presents Journey: A Musical Celebration, under the direction of Ms. Isis Roberts. The production is on March 25, 2017 at the Joseph Caleb Auditorium, 5400 NW 22nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33142. The event begins at 7:00 p.m. and will end at 9:00 p.m.
The Voices of Heritage (VOH) is the in-house vocal music apprenticeship program at the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center. VOH is celebrating their 20th anniversary through musical selections that honors various eras of the African Diaspora. Special guests will be Voices of Heritage Alumnus, Courtney Mickens, Declare Dance Ensemble, and Voices of Heritage Alumni.
In the past two decades, VOH has recorded singles, performed at the Miami Open, the Super bowl Concert, and performed for various social and religious organizations throughout the tri-county area. They have also performed for the cast of Africa Umoja the Spirit of Togetherness, African nobility, and for celebrities such as P. Diddy.
VOH strives to develop members’ musical repertoire while enhancing both their music knowledge through theory and application. Young vocalists can be invited to join VOH or audition. Tickets for Journey go on sale Friday, March 3, 2017 at $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
